Carissa Moore dominated the entire event. No one except Sally Fitzgibbons even came close to putting up the heat scores Carissa was: 17.66, 17.44, 17.00 were just a few of them. The 17.44 was what she put up in the final against Steph Gilmore, the reigning 3x Women’s World Champ. And Carissa more than doubled Steph’s score (8.60). With focus now entirely on the tour with finishing school, the women are in for some trouble as Carissa now sits fifth in the ratings. Steph, and everyone in between her and Carissa, would have to have a total meltdown in the last two events for Carissa to be a World Title threat this year, but it’s obvious that in the years ahead Carissa is going to win a few of them. Congrats on your second tour victory Carissa!—Ryan Brower
