Save The Waves and FCD Create “FUERZA CHILE!” Benefit T-Shirt

Fletcher Chouinard Designs to support Chile earthquake relief: www.savethewaves.org

Save The Waves Coalition is excited to announce the release of a new benefit T-shirt by Fletcher Chouinard Designs. Created in collaboration with Save The Waves and havenrecipes.com, $5 from the sale of every T-shirt will be donated to the ongoing earthquake and tsunami relief work by Save The Waves in Chile.

Chris Malloy, waterman filmmaker and admirer of all things Chilean, was recently seen wearing the “Fuerza Chile” T-shirt and had this to say: “I’m humbled by the Chilean people. The way they live their lives has taught me so much. We’re doing the best we can to help after this disaster that struck Chile. It takes donations, but it also takes blood, sweat and tears. This t-shirt is a small way that we can support relief work to help our Chilean friends recover.”

The “Fuerza Chile” T-shirt comes in black or white, with a full-color rendition of the Chilean flag on the chest. It is for sale at Patagonia’s California stores in Santa Monica, Ventura and Cardiff, at the Patagonia store in Santiago de Chile, and is also available online at the FCD shop here:

Funds from the sale of this t-shirt directly support Save The Waves Coalition’s ongoing earthquake and tsunami relief work through reconstruction of homes, cultivation of educational organic gardens, beach cleanups and cash grants for Chilean student leaders.

Chile was struck by a massive earthquake and tsunami on February 27, 2010, and Save The Waves has been conducting a grassroots relief campaign in coastal Chile since then. For more information and a complete list of generous supporters please visit www.savethewaves.org/Chile

About Fletcher Chouinard Designs: Fletcher, Yvon’s son, started to build better surfboards in a shack next door to the original Iron Works. Like father like son: Fletcher and Point Blanks proceeded to lay-up and destroy hundreds of fiberglass/foam panels until they found a better, stronger and lighter way to build boards. From there they took on a new name, Fletcher Chouinard Designs, but they always return to the original desire to build a better surfboard. Recently, Fletch surfed some very large waves in Chile. http://www.fcdsurfboards.com
