Life Rolls On Closes its 2010 They Will Surf Again Season Welcoming Record Numbers of Adaptive Surfers and Volunteers at La Jolla Shores on Saturday

Paralyzed surfers as young as three-years-old are expected to catch their first wave

LOS ANGELES, CA – (September 8, 2010) – More than 50 paralyzed surfers will enjoy the thrill of riding a wave at Life Rolls On Foundation’s They Will Surf Again (TWSA) event on Saturday, September 11 at La Jolla Shores in La Jolla, CA. The final stop on Life Rolls On’s nine-city adaptive surfing tour, They Will Surf Again is the signature program of Life Rolls On Foundation, which utilizes action sports to demonstrate the infinite possibilities despite paralysis.

“It’s been an incredible season,” said Kris Nakamura, LRO Executive Director and CEO. “Life Rolls On has been warmly welcomed into surf communities around the country and worked with some of the finest rehabilitation centers and medical partners in each city. Thanks to amazing volunteers, surfers and sponsors, this program continues to grow more successful each year.”

TWSA is made possible through generous contributions by the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) and Global Surf Industries (GSI) as well as local sponsors, including Embassy Suites San Diego-La Jolla, Popeye Moving Company, Surf Diva, and Tonic.

Croutons, Function Drinks, Kind Bars, Rimells, Surf Brothers and Sweet Treats will also keep more than 200 hard-working volunteers and fearless surfers energized with their donations of food, beverages and ice cream.

To commemorate the 2010 They Will Surf Again season, adaptive surfers will also receive a limited-edition Life Rolls On silver pendant designed and donated by JJ Porcell of Orogem Corporation, while Shaka Laka has generously provided custom Life Rolls On Shaka Laka Lip Blaka for surfers and volunteers.
