Tommy said that. He thinks he’s a male model. He takes a lot of pictures of himself and sometimes puts them on facebook. I’ll let you readers draw your own conclusions about his sexuality, and it’d be a real pleasure to see a vulgar comment or three. Today was Tommy’s day to shine, as we took pictures with Brett Simpson and his trophy, at the Verizon wireless amphitheater, and at Doheny. Tommy’s male modeling career is really starting to bud into something more beautiful than a whole mountain side full of dandelions.

We went surfing today too. Sometimes we tried to do jumps, being the gravity defyers we are and all. Defeyers isn’t a word, and it doesn’t even look like it should be. I’m going to put it in my forbidden hole of vocabulary.
Piers are large and made out of matter. They stick out into the ocean like giant inanimate caterpillars. They will never become giant inanimate butterflies. Some people walk atop of them. Other people jump off of them, and paddle under them naked. Here at ergo, we belong to the latter of the two groups. I wish they just became butterflies.

Team Analog
The sun sets on another day of the Cali Rally as the Analog team gruels on. Sorry for the late update, we haven’t had internet lately as late nights in Newport Beach seem to lead to much van-sleeping and missing persons. While we thought we killed the Orange County challenges, we ended up getting stuck in the Newport bubble for a hot minute. But we made it out, just in time to shoot North to Long Beach to battle the other teams in a hotwing/tray holding/relay race of sorts with Analog placing a strange 2nd. Look forward to some more randomness as we try to head towards Santa Cruz.

WTF? The TransWorld SURF Cali Rally is an annual scavenger hunt style race from San Diego to Santa Cruz. Featuring four teams of four surfers, each team gets a list of “challenges” that they must complete to earn points that go towards their overall Cali Rally point total. Along the way, teams must compete in four “Checkpoint Challenges” that range from shirtless paintball wars to tandem BMX races. Checkpoint Challenges are worth 1,000 points each. Extra points are awarded at the discretion of TransWorld SURF and can be earned for various feats including broken bones, heroic acts of courage, and making out with old ladies. Previous winning teams include Analog (2009) and Billabong (2008).
