NEW YORK, New York, August 3rd, 2010 — The Unsound Pro, New York’s only ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) sanctioned tour stop returns for it’s 12th year to Long Beach this September 8-12th. Long regarded as a “surfer’s” competition the event draws top rated competitors from across the globe. Over $30,000 in prize money will be distributed among the top placers this year with Nike 6.0 sponsoring the Grade-4 Pro Jr. event, the highest ranked event of its kind in the United States.
Other highlights at the 2010 Unsound Pro include:
- ASP Grade-4 Pro Jr. – The Nike 6.0 Unsound Jr. Pro will be the highest ranked Jr. Pro in North America this year with a 4-day waiting period and round of 48 format.
- Man on man heats will start at the quarter finals

- Pro Jr. off days will host a wide range of divisions – Men’s and Women’s Pro/Am, Red Bull Tow-Attack, Longboard – Ceremonial 9/11 Paddle
Additionally, top ranked ASP World Tour surfer Carissa Moore will stop in at the Unsound Pro to shoot scenes for the New York based action sports series “The Transit Chapters” which will air on MSG Plus in the fall of 2010.
