Billabong’s, 2010 Design For Humanity event was the party of the year. Held at the Paramount Studios New York street set, this rager of epic proportions had all the elements that make a party fantastic. The fact that this was primarily a fundraiser for Invisible Children was a great start—drinking and dancing for a good cause always makes you feel better the next morning. The other main element was the fashion show, and where there’s fashion, there are women. At this party, hot model-type females outnumbered men 2-to-1. There were groups of insanely beautiful hip and happy clans of ladies strolling the faux-New York streets, dancing to DJs, and basically strutting their stuff much the chagrin of the men in attendance. Fischerspooner played an incredible sexed up set that had the hipsters, fashionistas, pro surfers, and party crashers spinning with joy. All things considered, I nominate Billabong’s, 2010 Design For Humanity as the party of the year, is there an award for that? If not, I’m making one up just for this occasion.—Chris Cote
