Kelly Slater Injured While Free Surfing Bells

Surf sites were going off with “Slater Injured!” headlines, and even former World Champion and event web announcer Martin Potter, said it, “Kelly broke his foot trying an air at Bells!”

Back up there Champ, according to the man himself, Kelly Slater does not have a broken foot. He said in his post heat interview (where he took out World Tour rookie Dusty Payne) that he’d been to the doctor and the foot was in fact not broken—but he was in enough pain to get shot up by said doc with a local anesthetic and could have ligament damage, “I can’t feel the top of my foot right now, he quipped” Got one for me Champ?
