Volcom, Inc. announced it has promoted Ryan N. Immegart to Vice President of Marketing, effective May 15, 2010. At such time, current Executive Vice President of Marketing, Troy C. Eckert, will assume the newly created position of Volcom’s Hawaii Strategic Director and will head the company’s branding and marketing initiatives throughout the region.

“As part of Volcom’s strategic growth efforts, we see a great opportunity to leverage both Troy and Ryan’s strengths in new ways to capitalize on the momentum we are building for the Volcom brand on a global basis,” said Richard Woolcott, Volcom’s chairman and chief executive officer.

“They have been entrenched in the action sports industry for over 15 years and have helped to drive Volcom’s prominence worldwide. I am confident in their strengths and share their enthusiasm as we broaden the scope of our marketing and branding efforts.”

“Hawaii radiates outward to many different cultures, and it’s very important to remain deeply rooted on all levels,” said Eckert. “I’ve always had a strong connection and passion for Hawaii and this move provides me with an opportunity to develop innovative ways to further build our brand in this important and influential market. This is going to be a very exciting journey.” Eckert will relocate to Hawaii with his family on a permanent basis in June.

“I am really looking forward to the opportunity to continue to build momentum for one of the best action sports brands in the industry,” said Immegart. “Troy has done an amazing job, and I’m excited to work closely with our passionate and dedicated marketing team, and contribute to Volcom’s success for many years to come.”

Immegart, 33, began his career in 1992 as Volcom’s first sponsored snowboarder. Since 1995, he has served as the Director of Volcom Entertainment, the company’s music division that he founded with Richard Woolcott.
