  8. surfing says:

um i'm fifteen years old and i want to read?? its like saying hi im dane reynolds, 23, and i want to drink beer. give me a break. it sucks that these people live such privileged lives that they have to do normal things to differentiate themselves and recreate what is "cool"… i mean modern collective.

  9. Lance says:

Yes reading is good for you… so is math. I'm just curious to what kind of home-schooling education this kid is getting. Hope you don' tburn out on surfing kid because the real world is going to suck for you if you do.

  10. Jeff in CA says:

Lame fuckin music on this here clip. Hey Brother, next time tell you want some good shit. You're the talent, so ultimately, you got the power. Keep killin son!

  11. stuu says:

If Kolohe is so good, why can't Target encourage him to finish high school, go to college and then do the tour? Slater's pushing 40 and Taylor Knox is almost a grandpa. Is there anyone in surfing who really thinks it's a good idea to have 15 year old pro surfers?

  12. Chris Cote says:

Kolohe is cool. He says a lot more interesting things in that clip than most pros say. And seriously, how can you punk someone for saying they want to read books? Reading books is a good thing, i wish I read more books.

  13. California says:

the surf industries bitch. U will never be Dane

  14. noahorian says:

I have to read fucking textbooks everyday in college. I'll trade places with him so he can get some vagene and I can get some sick ass tubes. His surfing is mind-blowing. There's no way he can't be a pro.

  15. jean says:

  16. Ben Booson says:

dear SC sandbox. you must work at billabong. really? their logo? i buy my silverware and CDs and water filters at Target. they're not trying to sell surf stuff. i make boards for a living and I'm not scared of them. just cuz abercrombie and his brother fitch don't think billabong is cool anymore and your sales have dropped in half doesn't mean you should pick on a little kid. the kid knows his stuff and does real home schooling. he is already in pre- calculus - and yes i personally grilled him and he's not paying to pass. he doesn't put apostrophes on the end of words to make them plural. he reads real books. target and redbull and nike means Billabong saved some dough - Billabong should sink a quarter million into rebuilding US amateur Surfing - and not just for the people trying to be pros. there used to be 25000 people involved who WERENT trying to be pro. now they're all but gone. these people were the foundation of a surf shop's customer base. GONE. and everyone is wondering why surf shops are going under. someone put this on Paul Naude's desk please.

I must say well said…I can't believe how much hate is on the Andino kid here. Seems like a normal kid, who just happens to rip, trying to make it happen. Dino is still pretty mellow in the water at Trestles, give them both a break!

  18. JDT says:

Never will be a lack of haters in the world. The kid rips and is doing what most of us could only dream of. Keep on Brother!
