The North Shore Big Wave Challenge awards the biggest paddle in wave, the best barrel, and the worst wipeout of the winter surf season. It is an event that extends to rides in all of Hawaiiʻs waters and is judged on submitted photos or video documentation of rides.
There’s an original painting from Steven Valiere for the biggest wave, a custom Vans checkerboard guitar for the best barrel, and a Kicker audio sound system for the worst wipeout.
