Costa Mesa, Calif. (January 13, 2010) – Freestyle, the performance timepiece manufacturer, will introduce innovative and technical watches in bursts of color at the upcoming Surf Expo, booth #1147 and Action Sports Retailer, booth #437.
Five new styles added to the Freestyle collection include the Durbo, Shark Clip, Speed Dial, Summer, and Shark Thresher. All of the new watches will feature Hydro Pushers, which means the buttons on the watches can be pushed while submerged in water, and all watches are water resistant up to at least 100 meters and backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
Co-designed by Freestyle team rider Bede Durbidge, the Durbo is the first-ever watch to feature a built-in surf fin key. The key is compatible with both FCS and Futures fin systems and is neatly stashed on the side of the watch. Available in white and black, it also features date, dual time, a chronograph, two alarms and a pre-set heat timer in 5 minute intervals. The white watch retails for $150.00 and the black for $165.00.
Back by popular demand, the original clip band from 1988’s Shark watch is now featured on the new Shark Clip. Adorned with the original Freestyle logo and shark fin, these wonderfully retro-styled watches conjure up some serious nostalgia. At only $55.00 and available in three color combinations, these bad boys are sure to be a best seller.
The Speed Dial features an eye-catching durable polyurethane strap with a high gloss finish available in teal, hot pink, white and black; the black features a negative digital display for extra monochromatic sleekness. Although the Speed Dial is very stylish, its functions are not to be ignored. The watch features a calendar, two alarms, a heat timer, chronograph and jog wheel. White and black styles retail for $65.00, and the teal and hot pink retail for $75.00.
Summer is a new women’s-specific piece which is named accordingly; it exudes an air of fun and freshness. A bit futuristic and toy-like in looks, the Summer features multi-colored, functional square buttons on the top outer edge of the watch, and the display is just as colorful. The watch features a calendar, daily alarms, chronograph, durable polyurethane straps with a high gloss finish and retails for $60.00.
The Shark Thresher is available in both full-size and mid-size options and is modest in appearance. Taking a fitness spin on the classic Shark, the Shark Thresher features a 50 lap memory, day and date, a chronograph, countdown timer and two alarms. The durable polyurethane strap is slightly texturized for added interest, is available in two colors and retails for $55.00.
