What Really Went Wrong With …Lost?

Wild in the streets, running running. Wild in the streets, running running. The Decline

These words that blare from the intro to …Lost’s classic film The Decline (my personal favorite …Lost flick) sum up the hellbent crew pretty well. Those years from 1993-1999 …Lost knocked the standard surf movie square on it’s ass. Party, surf hard, nail chicks, get f—ked up, and above all, have fun was what …Lost quickly established as their prerogative. They were the anti-everything, led a ‘fish revolution’ before anyone even thought about it (5′5″ x 19 1/4″), and set the bar for surf movie raging that still attempts to be met to this day.

…Lost has put together a best of from the years of 1993-1999 which is a selection of the best segments and assorted highlights from the first seven movies. It features over one hour of never before seen bonus section buffoonery including “A day in the life of The …Lost House.” We’ll basically be getting a voyeuristic look at the deviated minds of the …Lost crew. As Cormican puts it at the end of the above teaser, “What really went wrong? Alot.”

…Lost will be doing screenings of the new flick, What Really Went Wrong, this weekend in Florida (see the flyers below). And the upcoming February issue of TransWorld SURF features an attempt to delve even deeper into this paradoxical madness. If you’re in the Florida area this weekend head to the premieres, you won’t be disappointed. And make sure to pick up the February issue of TransWorld SURF to get the full story, which hits newsstands 12/15/09. For more info on the premier parties, head to Lostenterprises.com.

How classic is it to see Andy Irons in Lost at Sea when he was with MCD and taking pictures of himself getting barreled and I love how they threw in the grom abuse of Taj Burrow being tied to the table

  • Meh'meh'meh Says:

What is Really Going Wrong! the La Jolla Group! Ahhaha Lost is such a butch of corpo douche bags! Ahahahah Editing up old footage of when they were legit isn't cool, or nostalgic…its just lame! "look heres Wardo, surfing as good (or better) 10 years ago at Lowers…ISN' T THIS EXCITING". This is the only way that HUGE Corpo Companies can seem like they still have roots, by looking back and saying 'see, we used to be core, SEE"

the Fact that Cormican is putting the thing together is awesome too! Remember when Jason Weatherly did Facotry Seconds? That was the last we ever heard of Ol' Jason….

I'm confused as to why anyone gets behind or upset at a brand. It's all the same money-making idea. The fact that the corporate changed ownership doesn't really matter. It's a business, whether they're pushing boards in San Clemente or crap t-shirts in Irvine. The fact that you believed that ….Lost was "core" to begin with shows what a sucker you are.

  • surfnewps Says:

I disagree. Even if they arent "core" or what every you want to say, their vids from that era are still hands down some of the most fun of all time. Not to mention the surfing is really good too. I think they need to make a new vid, but im not sure any of their new guys can match the old movies in any way

  • surfnewps Says:

with that said, i think your right to say …lost has fallen off the map pretty hard since this decade. Sill make sick boards though

  • mike reola Says:

meh meh meh - get the facts straight before you spout ingorant bs about a company. lost is still majority owned by biolos and myself. la jolla is our USA clothing partner - the same way they are for O'Neill. corpo corpo corpo - why don't you start a company and don't incorporate and then what will you do when someone decides to spill hot coffee on themselves and sue you? foolish smack talking simpleton you seem to be…

  • mike reola Says:

Surfnewps I appreciate the words - sort of. The fall off the map comment I guess must be put into perspective. We were never on the map in Newps the way every kooka sports the rooka. Our maps don't include the destinations yours do - take a step outside your dreamland and you might have a different opinion (I know I know not everyone in Newps is livin large - but you can't argue against your perspective being skewed due to your exposure.) Why do you think Woolcott resigned himself to a beach shack all those years when he coulda been lvin large in Newps - to stay a little closer to the minds of the true customer - not you - you who for example may have jumped from VCO to Billabong and now probably RVCA. Not sure it all means anything really - we are battling over "image" and it is somewhat of a selling out at any stage beyond the garage - but we make products our friends like still - and Lost is still the only company where if you see someone wearing the stuff - they likely have more in common with anyone on this site than someone wearing any other "brand".

  • mikereola Says:

regarding new videos - yes, went wrong is a compilation - but I made it, not Cormican - and i could care less whether you like it or not. - but i just had to come on here and defend myself - i guess the other corpos are smarter and don't concern themselves with the ones they think are below them - or maybe they have nothing to say in their defense. i know my postion below EVERY surfer out there, so keep em coming and when i have a few drinks I'll come out again spouting flailing defenses toward incorrigible ears. 5'5 redux was all original so not sure what surfnewps is talking about re new videos - and Ward Stories will be thoroughly entertaining and will provide views and answers to all the Ward questions that matter so much to the online shittalking community - so keep firing away meh meh meh, and surfnewps keep on marginalizing Lost for reasons that would be oh so apparent if I knew who you were. we'll keep on coming back like cockroaches cuz that's what we do. same way as 10 years ago and 10 years from now.

  • mikereola Says:

ya know i kinda wish we were way way way more corporate sometimes. try to post something super negative about a company that rymes with loveyoulong somewhere and see how long it takes before their moustached leader makes a call and has it taken down. then i could truly feel like the tail wagging the dog.
