Remnants Of Hurricane Ida Slam Northeast

Well folks, nor’easter season for the East Coast has officially begun! Last week the remnants of Hurricane Ida traveled up the East Coast on land only to reach the northeast, swing offshore, and pummel the northeast with major coastal flooding. The Delaware Bay Buoy last week was reading upwards of 20ft. at 12+ seconds, just to give you a little perspective of the swell generation.

Ocean City, New Jersey closed it’s bridges to the mainland on Friday due to the bay completely overflowing. Missing boaters, a surfer drowning in Rockaway, NY (see video), and massive amounts of destruction were just a few of the outcomes of the nor’easter. But this weekend, things cleaned up for the northeast and select spots saw quality, sizeable surf. Stay tuned later today for a photo gallery of the clean-up.
