Day 2 of the recently completed Xcel Pro Sunset Beach saw typical Sunset Beach conditions: 10-12 foot Hawaiian style surf, unruly rogue sets, and plenty of broken boards and shattered egos. What is it about Sunset that older guys like Pancho Sullivan, Myles Padaca, et al always do well while the younger crop seems to disappear? Answer? It’s a mans wave, son.
