Hurley Pro Trestles On For Today, Champ Will Be Crowned; Watch It Live

LOWER TRESTLES, California (Saturday, September 19, 2009) – The Hurley Pro Trestles, Event No. 6 of 10 on the 2009 ASP World Tour, is in the water with the final day of competition commencing in clean three-to-four foot (1.5 metre) waves at Lower Trestles.

“We’re going to start at 8am this morning with Round 4 and we’ll be running all the way through the Finals this afternoon,” Pat O’Connell, Hurley Pro Trestles Contest Director, said. “We’ve got some fun waves on offer this morning and we’re hoping it will build throughout the afternoon. We will have a champion today.”

History will be made today as the richest prize purse in surfing, US $105,000, will be awarded to the victor of the Hurley Pro Trestles.

Up first this morning will be former event winner Bede Durbdige (AUS), 26, up against compatriot Kai Otton (AUS), 29, in Heat 1 of Round 4.
