Be sure to check out this young but already spectacular event. You can check out one of the best surf museums around, have some drinks, and be heckled by TransWorld SURF’s Chris Cote as he mans the mic as the bidding auctioneer. You’ll also be able to check out all the exhibits at The California Surf Museum, including “100 Years of Surfing” and “Sidewalk Surfers.” Don’t miss out on this great fundraiser and chance to support the art, culture, and heritage of surfing.
Oceanside, CA April 28, 2009 – The 2009 2nd Annual Gala, a fundraiser for the California Surf Museum in Oceanside, CA will be bringing the party to the museum’s brand new location at 312 Pier View Way on May 14, 2009.
The 2nd Annual Gala is presented by the California Surf Museum as one of its biggest fundraising events of the year. This year, the Gala will be boasting an incredible showcase of local fine dining establishments 333 Pacific, Vigilucci’s and Harney Sushi with desserts by Petite Madeline Bakery. Fine dining food stations will showcase delicious selections which highlight each restaurant’s menu, providing a real taste of Oceanside and a little something for everyone’s palate. There will also be a no-host bar.
The silent auction for this year’s Gala includes limited edition items such as signed surfboards and fine art. Two auction item highlights are a surf clinic from Surf Diva Surf School and a private dinner cooked by KFMB’s own Shawn Styles at his home at WindanSea.
Chris Cote, editor of TransWorld SURF Magazine, will be manning the mic on May 14th while Gala guests mix, mingle, eat, and bid.
Guests at the Gala will have an opportunity to view both the museum’s permanent exhibit, “100 Years of Surfing” and its exciting new exhibit, “Sidewalk Surfers,” curated by Dale Smith. While moving between food and bar stations and bidding on auction items, Gala attendees will be able to understand the full scope of the museum’s work in a relaxed party atmosphere.
