Oceanside, CA March 27, 2009 – The California Surf Museum Board of Directors is excited to announce the opening of its new facility located at 312 Pier View Way in the City of Oceanside. This new facility is the first building built in the United States for specific use as a surf museum. The museum displays a significant part of the culture and heritage of surfing. Its Collection and Archives under the direction of Dr. Jean Keller is world class in its preservation and documentation. The funds generated from the Gala fundraiser will help CSM provide comprehensive audiovisual solutions integrating technology that will empower CSM to inspire and educate thousands of visitors each year.
The Gala Fundraiser will be held at the new California Surf Museum in Oceanside, CA on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 5–10pm. There will be live music, a variety of fabulous food experiences, and a silent auction with many limited edition items. Tickets for the event will be $65 per person for members and $100 for non-members. Tickets at the door will be $125, if available. The California Surf Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located at 312 Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA 92054. Open daily 10am-4pm with extended hours Thursdays to 8pm. Beginning April 1, admission is free to members, $3 for general admission, $1 for seniors, students and military, and free for children under 12.
