While far from epic, Huntington Beach Pier always delivers a little something.

The only waves on the entire SoCal coast last weekend could be found on the South Side of the Huntington Beach Pier and the WSA/Hobie Championship Tour was there to take advantage of them. 1–3 foot windswell was on tap with calm winds in the morning switching to WNW in the afternoon. While not the best surf we’ve had this year, it was totally surfable and the competitors made the most of it. Because of the incredible growth of the WSA, we had to go to two-day events. The 18 and over and open surfers all surfed Saturday, followed by all the under 18 year olds surfing double areas for 10 hours on Sunday. Winners in the U18 heats received an “iMainGo” portable iPod speaker system www.iMainGo.com. Results are below.

Next up is our make-up event from the rained out San Clemente Pier contest. It will be March 28 – 29 at Goldenwest Street in Huntington Beach.
