No Mavericks Big Wave Event This Weekend

We just got the word—the much-hyped swell (again!) has been downgraded in size and quality and the Mavericks Surf Contest will not happen this weekend. With the purse recently bumped up to $150,000 there was a lot of excitement added, but Mother Nature has other ideas and it’s a no go.

Apparently that big old purple blob doesn’t cut the Mavericks mustard…
