Ex-World Champ Claims His Body Is Changing Itself

The former world surfing champion Peter Drouyn has revealed he is to become a woman.

The 58-year-old Australian sports idol claims his male hormones have been draining from his body for the past eight years.

Gold Coast-born Peter said: “It hasn’t been intentional. It’s totally natural, with no medication or hormone therapies, no enhancements and no advice. It’s just happening.”

But he added that he always felt like a woman trapped in a man’s body

He said: “I have more a woman’s emotional and physical make-up, except for one difference - I was born with a male appendage. It’s that simple.

“My body is finally delivering the truth.”

He plans to have sexchange surgery as soon as he can afford it.

Peter added: “It will be my rebirth as a human. This is all happening for a purpose. I want to inspire male and females of all ages to seek truth.”

  • bruce Says:

He never surfed like a girl. He surfed great, some old timers say the best surfing they ever saw, was drouyn at kirra…

  • Jess Says:

Did anyone notice, Peter wearing only one fake eyelash on his TV interview??

  • Trevor Says:

Drouyn was ahead of his time both for board design and surfing, if life for him has changed and he is happy good luck.

For me and many others who surfed with him know how good he was, the best I saw including MP.

    Hope he finds peace.

  • Dell Says:

I remember Peter very well from the late 60’s and believe me he was “all man “back then,I do recall him bursting into tears when he lost his board during a surfing contest at snapper rocks, maybe the writing was on the wall even back then and no one noticed.I was one of a very small handfull of girl surfers on the gold coast and found most of the guys rude and obnoxious in the water. Peter Townsend was the worst,Phylis O’Donold was world champ,ah,the good old days.

IPSR - idiopathic partial sex reversal - is rare. Really rare. There are maybe a hundred female-to-male natural sex changes for every one going the other way - and the female-to-male ones are rare enough!

The change is not complete. The body feminises, but not completely, and some genital reconstruction is required, if only to eliminate risks of cancer from atrophied and dysfunctional glands.

This would be the 4th recorded case in Australia, so it’s far rarer than 1 in a million. But it does happen. All but one case worldwide had feminine gender identities. It’s over-simplified, but “girl brain in boy-looking body” is close enough. Then, for reasons unknown, the body changes, usually between ages 40-50.

  • Pat'k Says:

Yup, I’ll cede to Trevor. bit of as rude prick in the surf though…
…but yes, he was the first and one of only a very few “larger-than-life” characters I’ve crossed tacks with in my 57odd Yr’s.

If that’s where the future takes you, here’s luck Peter.

  • Ralph Says:

I hope Peter finds himself at last. I knew him as well as anyone else throughout the 60’s on the Gold Coast. He was always up and positive and enthused people around him with his energy. He did though have a dark side which we now with the benefit of hindsight realise. I always wondered why he never seemed to have a a permanent relationship with a local girl although he was never on his own being a tourist town. Peter made me a surfboard in 1969 which I took to Europe, America and Mexico and it was recognised everywhere. We travelled to Cornwall together and he was mobbed. We travelled through Europe together and he amazed how he was able to arrive back in London with a second hand Combi wagon with no paperwork or documentation to pass through customs. He was an enigma and I only wish he finds happiness and contentment in life.

Let me enlighten you. This natural transformation is very rare in both genders, 1 in 500,000+ and around 1 in 20,000 for people who are born with Gender Dysphoria. It has nothing to do with sexual preferences. The body will not convert fully, Gender Reassignment Surgery (GRS) is still needed and other procedures as well, such as eletrolisis and breast augmentation for male to female, but for female to male a lot more procedures are needed. The cost for male to female GRS is around AU$15,000 and thats with private health insurance to cover the stay in hospital.
The human body is wonderful and very complicated, thats one of the reason why I studied nursing. A few years ago I was delivering a lecture on this subject to a group of TAFE students and asked them this question, Why do males have nipples?.The answer, The default gender for humans is female.
No one wish’s this to happen to them, it just do’s. They loose family, friends, jobs and the list go’s on.
Accept others for who they are , not what you want them to be.
