A MEMBER of infamous surfing gang the Bra Boys was extradited to the Gold Coast yesterday after allegedly bashing a man after a party in honor of world champion surfer Mick Fanning last year.
Police allege Maroubra man Richard Hagan Vaculik, otherwise known as Richie Vas, bashed a man and broke his jaw in three places outside the Coolangatta Sands Hotel on November 10.
Detectives from Burleigh CIB flew to Sydney to apply for an extradition order to bring Mr Vacuik to the Coast.
They were successful and the popular Bra Boy was flown back early yesterday.
Apart from being a cage fighter, Mr Vaculik is also an Australian champion in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is quoted in an interview describing himself as a ‘surfer who fights rather than a fighter that surfs’.

Mr Vaculik fronted Southport Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon and was granted bail, with special conditions to allow him to travel to Los Angeles to sign sponsorship contracts for big-wave surfing.
Mr Vaculik, who the Gold Coast Bulletin understands is a friend of Mick Fanning’s, was one of several members of the Bra Boys to converge on the Gold Coast to celebrate Fanning’s world championship win in November.
The celebrations, which included a performance by rock band Grinspoon, were held at the Kirra Beach Hotel.
However, police said it turned ugly as the party moved to the Coolangatta Sands Hotel.
