“Since everything we do at Quiksilver is focused on an outdoor, active lifestyle, it’s a natural extension of our business that outdoor, adventure travel becomes an added service we offer to our customers,” says McKnight. “Quiksilver is about quality, authentic products, services, and experiences. Quiksilver Travel allows more people to participate in the unique aspects of the Quiksilver experience, and further differentiates us from our competitors.”

The travel venture is being headed by Jeff Wilson, an experienced veteran in the retail travel and airline industries, who also is managing Quiksilver’s in-house travel department.

“Since the core and roots of Quiksilver are in surfing, our launch travel packages are surf-related,” says Wilson. “We currently offer a mix of land- and boat-based programs in Indonesia and the South Pacific. Our roadmap for the remainder of the year includes additional land- and boat-based packages in Tahiti, Fiji, Australia, the Philippines, Central America, Mexico, and several locations in the Indian Ocean.”

“We intend to ramp up snowboarding adventures in the near future, mainly helicopter and snow cat experiences,” continues Wilson. “In addition, this year we will have opportunities for surfers to join the Quiksilver Crossing — a surf exploration and environmental project. We are also planning a unique event package available for viewing our upcoming big-wave event, the Maverick’s ‘Men Who Ride Mountains’ contest.”

Steve Tully, executive vice president at Quiksilver and the senior executive overseeing Quiksilver Travel, further explains, “Our vision is to be the one-stop shop for unique lifestyle travel adventures. Quiksilver has the brand, the knowledge, and the experience to accomplish that.”

Quiksilver Travel is being operated in partnership with TraveLeaders, Quiksilver’s business travel affiliate in Irvine, Calfornia. The operation is based out of Quiksilver’s Huntington Beach headquarters and can be reached toll-free at (877) 217-1091 or through its recently launched website quiksilvertravel.com .
